About

Open Doors for Paris is a response to the tragic carnage that befell the city on November 13, 2015, claiming the lives of innocent civilians, injuring many more, and devastating millions, not only in the city but across the globe.

The mission of the site is to provide a relief opportunity for anyone who is currently living in Paris to travel to another city for up to three nights with free accommodation. It will be updated continuously with new listings of spaces.

Open Doors for Paris is a service that aims to provide relief to people wishing to be in another environment for a short while to help them heal and process. It does this by connecting Parisians with hosts who have opened their space to you. You will be welcomed into people's homes with warmth, understanding and compassion. This is not intended to be a replacement for any type of therapy or treatment, but the hope is that this can be complimentary to the healing process. Most importantly, you will know you are not alone.

Each listing offers unique features- whether you are an individual or an entire family, we will do our best to find something that works for you.

If you live in Europe and have a spare room, even a couch, please consider offering it for a few nights. If you live in Paris, don't be afraid to contact us, there is nothing to be ashamed of in wanting a few days in a new environment to breathe and be in a space where you are welcomed and supported.

You can send any questions you have to info@opendoorsforparis.com, or look around for further information.

Paris, our hearts are with you.

About me

My name is Royce, I'm an actor and acting teacher living in London. I created this because I all too well remember a moment when I walked into a classroom at 8am and saw what looked like all of New York City covered in a blanket of smoke.

What is needed in response to events such as this is action. I'm not represented by a company, and so don't have the major budget to launch something huge by myself, but I can at least provide the network where collectively we can do something greater.

You can read more about me on my website (roycesparks.com), but everything of relevance to Open Doors for Paris can be found here on this site.

"To the songs that sing of glory and the brave,
Are we dreaming there are better days to come?
When will the banners and the victory parades
Celebrate the day a better world was won?
On this day, when the storm has just begun,
I will still hope there are better days to come."
